Zeno Villa

Taglio di Po Villa Zeno

Built in the XVIII century on an existing settlement area, probably of Etruscan origin. It presents a central body with two side wings, in front there is a farmyard and a garden at the rear.
Perhaps it was built as a ‘hunting lodge’, as in that period, the zone was marshland. Initially there was only the central body, the side wings were added in the Eighteenth Century. Inside the villa there is a cippus with the papal coat of arms: it indicated the border between the Venice Republic and the Papal States. In that time, the surrounding land was cultivated with rice-fields. Several local archaeological finds are now conserved in the villa.
