Church of San Michele Arcangelo

Villanova-Chiesa-di-san-Michele-Arcangelo

Built between 1762 and 1800, to replace the medieval Church there. The eighteenth century façade is topped with a tympanum with three statues. The interior presents a frescoed ceiling by Giovanni Battista Canal, Venetian painter of the second half of the 1700s follower of Tiepolo. One may admire a Titianesque Assunta by Teodoro Licini. In the apse is a Last Supper by Tommaso Sciacca.
