Beach of Barricata

BarricataThe beach of Barricata is more than 3 km long, a true island between a branch of the Po and the sea, reachable by way of a charming moveable pedestrian bridge which crosses the Po di Tolle. It is most loved by those who seek tranquillity, to be in touch with the rich and unspoilt natural environment, without having to give up the chance of efficient facilities on the more well-known beaches which are however, integrated into the environment and respectful of the natural landscape. Several tourist structures are available, some of which offer bird watching facilities or boat excursions into the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta, motor home facilities, maisonettes, apartments, restaurants. One should not however, expect a super equipped beach establishment, because Barricata is characteristic for being an integral part of the Park of the Po Delta.
The beach is of soft sand, the sea is very beautiful with sandy beds which descend gradually, ideal for swimming and paddling; to add to one's trip, a panoramic tour of the Scardovari Basin, next to the port, one of the most enchanting spots of the Po Delta.
Porto Barricata is an important reference point for deep-sea fishing enthusiasts.
