The fossil dunes in Rosolina

Sites of Community importance (SIC), the fossil dunes in the locality of Rosolina, placed behind the inhabited zone and along the railway line Adria-Chioggia, are isolated rises or small dune complexes of considerable height (over 10 m. a.s.l.). In this area the rapid succession of coastal lines goes from 1000 BC until the X century. From Rosolina Mare to Albarella, the cordon dating the XVII century may be distinguished.
These rises are partially covered by woodland which is of interest as it is the continuation towards South of the floristic evidence of the Bosco Nordio.
