THE CANAL BIANCO

Canal BiancoThe Canal Bianco is an artificial canal that makes up the mid section of the Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po di Levante, a seaworthy canal 135 km long that links Mantova to the sea, crossing the whole province of Rovigo. The initial section, 52 km long, is natural and is called "Tartaro", the mid section, 78 km long, is an artificial canal, the "Canalbianco" and flows to the Volta Grimana basin.
The final piece is 17 km long, arrives at the mouth of the river and is called "Po di Levante".

Canal bianco The river's total length, from its sources to the sea is 147 km. The waterway Fissero-Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po di Levante or Mantova-mare is completely navigable and offers numerous opportunities for yachting and for tourism in Polesine.





Canal bianco It is also linked to the navigable waterway "Po-Brondolo", which from the Chioggia lagoon reaches Venice.
